I do not know if you know disabled people who have strong will and personalities. In most cases, they are always waiting for someone to help them open a door or give them a handout. Is someone who used to live it all and became disabled all of a sudden lame? Who else is lame? Here was someone who knew no other life than one full of pity and begging. Sad history of lame but there are still people with complete appendages and senses who live through other people’s pittance.
Today, the circumstances are being somehow influencing the world to feel that way. A lot of doors are opened and people can see a promising future but what do they do? They just sit down to see who throws a coin. Who is lame? People also expect something from others. If you are a person who is always expecting something from someone then most likely you have limitations. If you're someone who's waiting for someone to give you a chance to work, how do you leverage yourself to get into any position? You beg and that most likely makes you lame. Who is in that position? People fall into a situation that allows them to move forward in this case, the first thing the enemy wants to do is sow in you that spirit.
A person becomes lame that all he wants is someone to toss a coin to get ahead or him or her. Contrary to this, we see the second character in this story. Verse 4 from the book of Peter: John, fastening his eyes, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Peter said: I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones became solid and he was now leaping to his feet and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
